Our Business Footprint

Sustainability

Spearheading the shift to low-emission aviation

Sustainability is central to Shell & MOH’s business strategy. We facilitate green aviation practices by scaling the distribution of Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) across Greek and Bulgarian airports, extending SAF availability to all airline segments — while actively reducing our technical joint ventures’ own operational emissions to lead by example.

Promoting the adoption of SAF

SAF is a biofuel that reduces lifecycle carbon emissions by a minimum of 80% compared to conventional jet fuel, making it one of the most impactful ways to decarbonise air travel. Shell & MOH Aviation is leading the way in making SAF readily available at Greek airports — offered locally, not through global mass-balance systems — guaranteeing that SAF is physically used in Greek and Bulgarian aviation operations and delivers direct CO₂ reductions.

Supporting infrastructure and market development

We collaborate with stakeholders such as aviation authorities and airports to ensure sufficient infrastructure for SAF storage and distribution, and we supply SAF even at the non-Union airports of Kalamata and Araxos, driving sustainability market development.

Committed to reducing our own CO₂ emissions

As part of our sustainability strategy, we are not only helping the aviation industry reduce emissions but also taking significant steps to reduce our own footprint — including reducing Scope 1 and 2 emissions.
